Organisers of this weekend’s
sold-out British International Athletics Match in
Glasgow have confirmed that a free shuttle
bus service will be in place to help get ticket holders to and from the event.
Glasgow Life and UKA have
confirmed details of a free shuttle bus service from Buchanan Bus Station to
the Emirates Arena on for the duration of Saturday’s event. The move follows
the successful operation of similar integrated transport plans at the recent
UCI Track Cycling Word Cup and Glasgow World Cup Gymnastics events at the
Emirates Arena, which were attended by around 20,000 and 5,000 people
A similar initiative was
also operated for the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s at Scotstoun Stadium in May
2012, which was attended by 27,000 people. The shuttle bus services help reduce
traffic congestion and alleviate any potential parking issues in local
Saturday’s shuttle service is
completely free for ticket holders and will operate at regular intervals
throughout the day with a reduced service during the event. Services from
Buchanan Bus Station (Stances 23 – 32) will run on a circular service between
10.15am to 6pm, with an operational capacity of up to 2,000 passengers per
A limited number of car
parking spaces will also be available at Celtic Park
on a first come first served basis. The stewarded car parking area at Dalriada Street can
be accessed via Janefield Street.
Those who need to travel by car are reminded that London Road is closed at Celtic Park.

said: “This weekend’s British International Athletics Match is shaping up to be
a fantastic curtain raiser for world-class athletics at the Emirates Arena. It
will be the first international athletics event at the venue with thousands of
fans expected on the day.
