As all eyes turn to Glasgow in 2014, our Winter Update provides some information on the scale of Glasgow Life’s involvement in the Commonwealth Games and a snapshot of the wide range of services we deliver on behalf of Glasgow City Council, for the benefit of citizens and visitors.
Across Glasgow, we are providing services which really make a difference to the lives of the people we serve. In the last year, we recorded a record 17.5 million individual attendances/uses of our services – up 700,000 on the previous year. We’ve enjoyed great success with the city hosting major sporting events and cultural smashes – such as the record-breaking Jack Vettriano retrospective at Kelvingrove. Equally important, at a local level, we continue to support individuals and communities – positively contributing to Glasgow City Council’s Strategic Priorities.
None of this would have been achieved without the considerable strength of our partnerships – with both individuals and organisations – building on our commitment to cement Glasgow’s status as a world-class city.
We hope you will find the update both interesting and enjoyable.
