Aye Write! Glasgow’s Book Festival launched

This week saw the launch of Aye Write! Glasgow’s Book Festival, which will take place in Glasgow’s Mitchell Library from 4-12 April 2014. The 9 day festival brings together a rich variety of author events, book signings and debates, and includes appearances from Al Murray, Liz Lochhead, Frankie Boyle, William McIlvanney, Gail Porter, James Naughtie, Susan Calman, Kirsty Wark and 2013 Man Booker prize winner Eleanor Catton, amongst many other illuminating and entertaining speakers.

In addition the festival boasts an inspiring strand of creative writing workshops and community events, as well as some family events from popular personalities Julia Donaldson, Sally Magnusson and CBeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell. And in this very special year for Glasgow, Aye Write! also includes many events reflecting and celebrating the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as writing and writers across the Commonwealth.
