An army of volunteers recruited to welcome visitors to the Commonwealth Games
will be given a test run at
Glasgow’s Mela in just a few weeks time.
Up to 1,500 Host City Volunteers are being enlisted
to provide the warmest of welcomes during the Games, and in advance of this 100 of the volunteer recruits
will be giving a helping hand at Glasgow Mela, Scotland’s biggest multi-cultural
festival. The free event is expected to attract around 35,000 visitors over the
weekend, as well as performers from around the world, so it will provide the
Glasgow Mela takes place in Kelvingrove Park on 7
and 8 June.
