Glasgow 2014, in partnership with Glasgow Life and Creative Scotland has announced the opening of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme Open Fund. This fund, with the value of £4million, offers individual artists and arts organisations the opportunity to apply for funding for projects that will be part of the cultural celebrations taking place across the city and nation in the build up to and during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
Glasgow 2014 will be Scotland’s biggest ever combined cultural and sporting celebration. As an integral part of an unforgettable Commonwealth Games experience, we aim to stage and support a truly spectacular and surprising programme of cultural events that will bring the Commonwealth to Scotland and Scotland to the Commonwealth.
Glasgow Life is leading on the delivery of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme, as part of our remit to oversee the delivery of Ceremonies, Culture and Queens Baton Relay for Glasgow 2014. The Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme Open Fund is the first major opportunity for the cultural sector in Scotland to contribute to this once in a lifetime event, and for us to showcase the best of the city and nation’s culture on a global stage.
Grants of between £20,000 and £300,000 are available, and the closing date for applications is 22nd February 2013.
