Dancing Voices

Dancing Voices is a major new project led by Barrowland Ballet and in collaboration with the Southbank centre that will bring together over a hundred older dancers as well as two choirs to perform a brand new work at the Merchant City Festival, Glasgow in July 2012.

About the Project:

Dancing Voices 2012 will bring together older dancers in a large-scale dance and choir project. The project will end with a performance in Glasgow’s Merchant City Festival, w/c 23rd July and will be directed and choreographed by Barrowland Ballet’s Artistic Director Natasha Gilmour. The piece is being made in collaboration with the Southbank Centre in London, where a parallel performance involving London based older dancers will take place, also during July. Through Southbank’s Voicelab programme, the highly regarded singer and voice coach Mary King has been acting as a consultant on the development of the project.
