conFAB, working with words
Founded in January 2004, conFAB aims to support, develop and expand opportunities for writers of all mediums, encouraging the innovative growth of the arts of the written and spoken word across Scotland and internationally.
conFAB works in the form of an umbrella providing the support and structure of an organisation for writers who wish to pursue and develop their own initiatives and work.
As well as developing our own programme of activities and events we welcome and encourage writers to come forward with suggestions for projects that you would like to pursue. We can then discuss the needs of the project and how conFAB can support the realisation of your idea.

The Scottish Writers' Centre will be a focal point for Scottish writers and writing, the first dedicated literature venue of its kind in Scotland. Our aim is to provide a social arena where writers can meet and share ideas and experiences and a facility providing basic services for writers - dedicated performance and workshop space, writing pods, cafe, writer's flat and bookshop.
The centre aims to support and promote the work of Scottish writers and provide an international showcase space for Scottish literature. It will offer a regular programme of live events and workshops, along with activities such as schools programmes, community publishing workshops, literary consultancy and an annual writing fellowship.
