Volunteer's Week - The Big Celebration!

Volunteer's Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK – and it’s taking place from the 1-12 June 2016. (This year there was an additional five days to enable even more time to celebrate)

On Wednesday 8th June 2016, Good Move staff and over 40 volunteers gathered at Partick Burgh Halls for this year’s Good Move Volunteer Celebration Event. An opportunity for staff to say THANK YOU,  catch up over a cuppa and cake, take part in activity tasters and play some games.

At Good Move so many of our programmes are volunteer lead without them we simply couldn’t deliver our wide range of activities. Weather it’s volunteering at a one off event or leading a weekly activity every volunteer is making a real difference to their community,  helping others maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“It was great to hear the bustle of conversations as people enjoyed catching up and new volunteers were introduced to the wider “family”. The photo booth was such good fun as people let their blue (?) hair down and got into the spirit of the event.” Lorraine Toner, Volunteering Development Officer, Good Move Glasgow

Big thanks to Lori, Susan and Jo for delivering activities which all proved popular. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!
