Getting around Glasgow
June 2013 Glasgow will become the first major
UK city to host the prestigious
National Road Race Championships on an entirely city-based course. This is a
great opportunity for residents and visitors to see the UK's
fastest male and female riders in action in the heart of the city.
Cyclists will be looping the route approximately every 20 minutes throughout the day allowing spectators to have the option of staying in the one place or travel to any of the different points on the route to see these elite athletes take on different elements of the course such as the fast downhill stretches or tough uphill climbs.
Due to the required road
closures and associated traffic disruption on the day of the event, spectators
are encouraged to travel to, and around the city on public
SPT are currently working
with city’s bus operators regarding changes to services for the day and will, in
the coming weeks, provide details of these changes on the SPT website.
