Road Race

Each year across Europe, one weekend before the start of the Tour de France, each nation hosts its National Road Race Championships with riders returning to their home nations to race for the honour of wearing their nation’s national champion’s jersey for the next 12 months. 

The Road Race will take place on Sunday 23rd June. The Women’s race will start at 0930hrs and finish at 1300hrs approximately and there will be an anticipated 60 riders completing 8 laps covering a total distance of 112km.

The men’s race will start at 1330hrs and finish at 1730hrs approximately and there will be an anticipated 140 riders completing 13 laps of a 14.2K route.

Previous riders at the Road Race Championships have been Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Lizzie Armitstead and Nicole Cooke. So keep an eye on this page for further details on who will be competing at this years race.

Spectators are advised to be present at least 20 minutes in advanced of start and estimated finish times noted above.
