23 & 24 June 2012
From Reggae to Russian folk, Latin American to Pan African beats and ofcourse from Bollywood to Bhangra, the Glasgow Mela is the place to be.
The Mela embraces the many cultures that make Scotland so diverse and this year Gaelic culture, with a long history in Glasgow, makes a strong appearance in this colourful outdoor spectacle. As well as getting to grips with cultures from the Indian sub-continent you can enjoy a performance of Gaelic step dance with Dannsa, accompanied by traditional musicians and Gaelic song with Catriona Watt and even a Gaelic Gazebo with Jamaician Blues and Gaelic Storytelling and a bit of a ceilidh.
