Book Discussion Groups

Book groups are a great way to discover new books to read and meet new people.

Many Glasgow libraries have book groups – they meet once a month to discuss one or two books, supplied by the library service. Book groups are free, relaxed and informal – joining one is a great way to meet other readers and discover new authors.

Visit our Events Diary here to find out about book groups and other events taking place in your local library and throughout the city.

Glasgow Book Groups Blog

We would love to help our book groups grow and to help with choosing books and to give tips on running a book group and much more. We've set up a new blog just for you! To follow out Book Group Blog click here.

Book groups are fun, stimulating and can be therapeutic, helping people to cope with stress and anxiety through the relaxation and escapism provided by reading.
