Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries Strategy 2015 - 2018

It has always been in the plan that Glasgow Life will mainstream our service into its core library service.

It is our belief that should we meet our objectives as set out in this strategy that the Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries service will continue to develop into an enduring and trusted service in the years to come.  This also provides a springboard to realise the ambition of Glasgow Life to be a recognised deliverer of health information to the citizens of Glasgow.

We firmly believe that with the right planning, training and support we can transition from a service that is fully funded by Macmillan, to a service that is highly regarded, effective and becomes part of what Glasgow Libraries offer the people of Glasgow on a day to day basis.

Vision for Glasgow Libraries

Glasgow Life's vision is that Glasgow’s Libraries are amazing places to read, learn and discover – the trusted guide at the heart of our communities.

The Vision for Glasgow Libraries describes Glasgow Life's approach to meeting these aspirations over the next five years using the network of community libraries, school libraries and The Mitchell Complex.

It was shaped by the findings of a major consultation process. Over 3,000 people and organisations participated.
