The Mitchell Library holds information from and about the Scottish Parliament and provides free access to the Parliament's web site. The library also has extensive holdings of British government publications including Papers and Bills from both Houses; Public and General Acts; Local and Personal Acts; Statutory Instruments; Parliamentary Debates and publications by Government departments and agencies.
Public Information Online (PIO)
An essential tool for all users of Parliamentary papers, PIO contains full text from Session 2006/2007 onwards of Command Papers; Papers from the House of Commons and the Lords; Bills from the House of Commons and the Lords; Explanatory Notes; Public Bills and Standing Committee Debates.
You can access this material from any library PC or from home if you're a library member.

Law books are located on Level 4 and material relating to Scots Law is particularly well-represented. All books acquired since 1970 are listed in the online catalogue. Law Reports, periodicals and official publications are listed separately. The collection includes The Laws of Scotland: Stair Memorial Encyclopedia, a multi-volume work providing general information on all aspects of Scottish Law, with relevant cases highlighted.
