During the First World War, Glasgow's Evening Times newspaper printed short biographies of service personnel who were reported lost, missing or wounded
Most of these biographies were accompanied by a photograph of these long gone heroes, often now the only one that exists.
Index to Roll of Honour
The Mitchell Library has produced indexes to these entries as a valuable addition to their Family History resources:
Both these indexes can be downloaded along with a list of frequently asked questions about the Roll of Honour.
If you are looking for someone who is not yet included, please revisit this page as the 1916-1918 index will be updated regularly.
The Evening Times is held on microfilm in Archives and Special Collections of The Mitchell.
