Don Paterson

Don Paterson is a poet, writer and musician. Born in Dundee in 1963, his debut, Nil Nil (1993), won the Forward Poetry Prize for First Collection and his second collection, God’s Gift to Women (1997), won the T S Eliot Prize and the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. He was awarded an OBE in 2008 and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2010. As an editor, he has compiled popular poetry anthologies and he teaches Creative Writing at the University of St Andrews. His collection Landing Light (2003) scooped more awards, and he remains the only poet with two T S Eliot Prizes to his name. Rain was his most recent collection, published by Faber in 2009.​
