Glasgow Libraries Celebrates the West End Festival
This year’s West End Festival runs from Sunday 1 June until Sunday 29 June and as ever Glasgow Libraries are celebrating this annual festival by hosting a series of events in Hillhead Library.
Some of the highlights of this year’s Glasgow Libraries programme include the exhibition: Harry Papadopoulous – The Edit which captures the post-punk era in Scotland with images from the staff photographer of the essential music weekly of the time, “Sounds” and also a fun-packed session with Nick Sharratt regarded as one of the most creative and best loved illustrators and writing talents in the UK.
In association with Friends of Glasgow West, we also present a series of events exploring the historical development of the West End from its people to its urban landscape and the City’s contributions to science, art, cinema, industrial architecture and other areas of culture.
Or why not bring the kids along to one of the family events including Read it in a Different Language! on Saturday 14th June with The Very Hungry Caterpillar in Spanish; The Gruffalo in Italian; Elmer the Elephant in German and The Rainbow Fish in French. Or join us with author Janis MacKay as she reads from her book The Wee Seal - a tender story about the friendship between a young boy and a wee seal.
For details on all of the above and more please see the link to the Glasgow Libraries West End Festival Programme on this page.
We hope you can join us for what is sure to be another enjoyable festival!
