Glasgow Libraries provide free beginner computer courses as well as a range of more advanced computer courses. 

The free computer courses cover a range of topics including:  Getting started with computers, Internet and Email through to creating a CV and job searches using Universal Jobmatch. See below for details of all courses. We also offer beginner classes on mobile devices.

Getting started with computers course

A free tutor-led course designed for individuals who have little or no computer experience. This course runs over 5 sessions each lasting for 2 hrs.

Topics covered include:
  • Getting started with Computers
  • Getting started with Word
  • Getting started with Internet
  • Getting started with Shopping and Media
  • Getting started with Email

GOALS4Work course

A free tutor-led course which runs over 4 sessions each lasting 2 hrs.

Topics covered include:
  • Mouse / Keyboard / Word (cover letters)
  • E-Mail
  • Create a CV
  • Job Searching (Using Universal Jobmatch)
  • Mobile Technology Course
