Group Visits

Glasgow Museums are a great place for groups to visit and there are various ways that we can support you.

This is section designed to assist those bringing children’s groups (e.g. Beavers, Brownies, Out-of-School Care Groups), youth groups, community groups and older adults such those from care homes. We have separate pages for those bringing school groups and colleges groups.

Small groups are often able to participate in our public programme which includes talks, tours and family workshops. Check out our What’s On guide to see what’s coming up and to find out what the booking arrangements are.

Larger groups should call ahead and let us know you are coming, even if you’re just having a look around one of our museums. Whilst we may not be able to accommodate larger groups within our public programme, we may be able to offer something specific for your group.

Please call 0141 276 9505 / 9506 - you will then be put in contact with a member of staff from our Learning team at your chosen venue. Please note: All visits to Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, irrespective of group size, must be booked in advance.

Out of School care groups: During the holidays most of our venues offer closed sessions in the mornings for out-of-school groups. These sessions must be booked in advance. To receive a copy of our forthcoming holiday programme, please e-mail museums.schoolbookings@glasgowlife.org.uk stating that you wish to be added to the Out of School holiday programme mailing list.

For groups with disability and access requirements please see the Visit section of your chosen venue for more information.

Older Adult Groups – Download a copy of our handy guide to visiting museums from the related documents section on the right hand side.
