Glasgow Museums is committed to providing access for all to our collections. To further this aim, we have created short introductory videos in both British Sign Language and International Sign Language. This ensures that our Deaf visitors who use sign language can gather welcome information about each museum. These videos will provide an insight into what each museum offers and practical information which may help you plan your visit. This is provided not only in British Sign Language for UK visitors but also in International Sign Language which provides access for Deaf visitors world wide.
For see these videos, please click the links below to go to the museum page. You may need to scroll down the page, but the videos are directly on these pages:
In addition we hold a monthly BSL Language Café
at St Mungo' Museum which provides an relaxed informal space for students learning BSL to meet and practise their signing. There is no teaching at this session however discussion topics may be suggested, games will be played and the regular fingerspelling quiz is always a hit!
