The Camphill Fund

The Camphill Fund was established in 1984 to promote Glasgow Museums' costume and textiles collection. The Fund takes its name from Camphill House, an 18th century house on the southside of Glasgow where the collection was formerly housed.

Over the years, funds have been raised by holding events such as fashion shows and masked balls, and from generous donations from the business sector.  Money from the Fund has gone towards the conservation of the late sixteenth / early seventeenth century hangings from Lochleven Castle.

The Fund has also helped with the provision of:

  • mannequins
  • exhibitions
  • publications on the collection

The Camphill Fund is administered by the Friends of Glasgow Museums (FoGM). If you would like further information on the Fund, or to make a donation, please contact FoGM.     Cheques should be made payable to 'FoGM (The Camphill Fund)'
