What does the Open Museum do?
The Open Museum takes Glasgow Museums' collections beyond the museum walls and out into the community. The Open Museum has many reminiscence kits, object handling kits and exhibitions available for loan.
This free service allows Glasgow's citizens to borrow museum objects and create their own displays.
Do we need any special skills to be able to borrow objects?
No. Our staff are here to give support and advice.
How do I find out about the volunteering opportunities with Glasgow Museums?

Can Glasgow Museums give me information or advice on valuations and conservation information for my antiques?
No. You can make enquiries and requests to view objects held in storage through our Collections Navigator
. However, it is not our policy to give valuations on antiques or other items.
