The Open Museum has a range of different resources for loan.
Our resources are usually borrowed for use at community events or for display in community venues. All kits and displays can be borrowed for free.
Please note that the Open Museum does not loan resources to schools or colleges.
Delve into these special kits for a trip down memory lane, or to find out what life was like in years gone by.
Kits cover lots of themes, including Tenement Life, Shipbuilding and Wartime. We also have kits themed around the '50s, '60s and '70s! Kits coontain original objects, photographs and other material.
Our variety of themed kits will let you get your hands on artefacts from Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages and the Stone Age. There are also big beasties and fossilised sea creatures!
The kits can give you a unique glimpse into past lives too. Find out what you'd pack in an Evacuee Suitcase, or peek into a Victorian Trunk full of school items from over one hundred years ago.
