This book celebrates 31 Days of Inspiration, which took place as part of the Big Draw 2012. Everyday of October an object from Glasgow Museums’ collection was posted on the Open Museum Facebook page. Each object was chosen by a different member of staff, from gallery assistants to designers. The public were invited to post drawings inspired by the objects, thus creating a communal digital sketchbook.
Each week some of the objects went to the St Enoch Centre for an “Inspire” session, where over 300 people saw the objects in the flesh and took part in our pop-up artist’s studio.
The project won a prestigious Drawing Inspiration Award for “innovative community engagement”, chosen from over 1500 Big Draw 2012 events across the UK.
