Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Ingram Street Tearooms

At the same time as Mackintosh planned the rooms, a range of furniture was also designed.

This included:

  • couches

  • armchairs, and

  • two types of writing desk.

Further research is needed, but it seems that the couches may have been placed in the Rest Room, and the desks in the Oval Room – possibly even with telephones supplied.

More needs to be found out about the day-to-day use of these rooms, and it would be helpful to hear from members of the public who remember them, or who have been told about them.
