Volunteer guides provide a valuable service to Glasgow Museums and to visitors.
Full training is provided, and guides can keep up to date through the lectures given by curators and other Glasgow Museums' staff on their area of expertise.
Guides provide a service at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Burrell Collection, and the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA).
Burrell Guides
The Burrell Guides offer free tours of the collection up to four times a day.
They also run theme tours on a regular basis. Some guides give talks on the collection to outside groups.
GoMA Guides
The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) Guides offer free tours of the collection at 12 noon and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
They are always delighted to welcome new guides, and recruit three times a year, usually September, January and July.
