Glasgow Museums’ Annual Art Competition 2013
Glasgow Museums would like to invite all schools to enter our annual art competition, which is now over one hundred years old. Pictured above is a 2012 Art Competition winner receiving her prize from Glasgow personality Jimmie McGregor.
This competition is for all ages from nursery to secondary school age. Groups can organise a museum visit to complete their art works, however it is also open to individuals or non school groups. All entrants must between the ages of 3 and 18 to enter the competition.
Entries are judged within age bands and winners will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals at a glittering ceremony in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
Pupils have three hours in which to complete a drawing or painting using any medium (only pencil at Burrell)! You can visit any of Glasgow’s museums between now and the end of May to enter the competition.
Bring your own materials and hand the work in at the reception or visitor information desk at the venue you visit.
Make sure the work has your name, school name and your school year on the back of your piece, which must be recieved by a venue by 31st May 2013.
Work will be judged by professional artists and art educators.
