The public appeal gave everyone the opportunity to support Kelvingrove. Donations ranged from £5,000 to £10,000.
The Trustees were delighted that so many people with a fond memory of Kelvingrove chose to support the appeal and share those memories with us.
Thousands of people from across the world contributed to the public appeal. Most responses came from the people of Glasgow.
This means that nearly 9,000 names are now on the walls of Kelvingrove. They will remain there as a testament to the affection so many people have for the building.
The names on the Donor Wall are engraved into the stonework, and the names recorded In Memoriam are etched on brass plaques.
The appeal is now closed, and the Trustees extend a warm thanks to everyone who has contributed.
