Display space within the building has been increased by:
- the removal of offices and workshops
- the opening up of the basement, and
- the use of off-site storage facilities.
The number of objects on display has been increased by 50%, and thousands of square metres of new display space has been created.
There are now 8,000 objects on show compared to the 5,000 that were previously on display.
Included are a large number of objects that we have been able to bring back out of storage.
