The site of the old tearoom on the north landing is now the Study Centre. Here, visitors can take part in a variety of activities.
The space is divided into two main areas. An outer area houses small displays on a wide variety ot themes as well an an IT suite with computers for visitor use.
From here you can access the Reading Room. It is a quiet space with more computers and a small library of books that relate to the display themes covered in the galleries.
One of the most exciting new additions to Kelvingrove has been the creation of three areas dedicated to hands-on learning.
Visitors are able to handle objects and take part in workshops led by museum staff.
