Sir Roger moved from the travelling menagerie to the Scottish Zoo and Variety Circus.
The zoo was in New City Road, Cowcaddens, Glasgow and opened in May 1897. It was run by Edward H Bostock.
Bostock had a long relationship with the museum and supplied it with a number of exotic specimens.
The Scottish Zoo closed in 1909.
