Life at the Time of Dinosaurs

Ichthyosaur from Holzmaden, Germany

Long before humans walked the earth, dinosaurs roamed across the world.

They shared the planet with a rich variety of creatures.

Life at the time of the dinosaurs tells the story of life on our planet and in Scotland between 220 and 65 million years ago.

Dinosaurs are the most famous creatures from this period in history. But planet earth was teeming with many forms of life:

  • in the air
  • on the land, and
  • in the sea.
This display shows representatives of life in the air, land and sea.

Many of the creatures are extinct but others are similar to life that survives today.
