The Baron of Buchlyvie

Life

The Clydesdale is an important local breed of horse.

The Baron of Buchlyvie was a famous Clydesdale horse. He was involved in a legal dispute over ownership. This led to him being sold in 1911 for £9,500.

This was a record price for any horse at that time. This record-breaking amount gives the Baron his place in the gallery supporting the theme of Animal Record Breakers.
