This display looks at the things that inspire artists.
And it explores the variety of ways in which visual artists express themselves.
It concentrates on painting and sculpture. And it helps visitors learn basic artistic terms and techniques to describe what they see.
It takes the form of interesting juxtapositions of objects dealing with similar subject-matter but using different media or styles.
For example, the landscape section includes:
- Constable’s Hampstead Heath
- Turner’s Modern Italy – the Pifferari, and
- a sculpture by Jake Harvey called Nocturnal Landscape.
