The new Riverside Museum: Scotland's Museum of Travel and Transport will be around the same size as the previous Museum of Transport, but the new building will also house the Clyde Maritime Trust’s offices and workshop, and have the impressive Tall Ship Glenlee berthed alongside.
The Riverside Museum will have 7,500 square metres of public space, which is slightly more than the existing Museum of Transport.
More of this public space will be on the ground floor, that means our collections will be much more accessible to visitors. This also gives greater flexibility over the display of larger objects, such as cars, trams, buses and locomotives.
