The People’s Palace and Winter Gardens is a short walk from the heart of the City, and lies within the grounds of historic Glasgow Green.

During Games Time At The People's Palace

During the Commonwealth Games, we are open to visitors as part of the Glasgow Green Live Zone for Festival 2014. To access the People's Palace you will need to enter Glasgow Green through the main entrance for the Live Zone. Please be aware that there are live sports at Glasgow Green Live Zone on 27 July, 31 July and 3 August. 

Entry is free and unticketed at all times to the Glasgow Green Live Zone, aside from the Opening and Closing Ceremony parties. Entrance to the People's Palace is free as normal. 

Our Opening Hours during this period will be: 
Wednesday 23 July – CLOSED 
Thursday 24 July - Saturday 2 Aug - 10am - 8pm daily 
Sunday 3 Aug - 10am  - 5pm

We will be closed on Monday 4 August, normal opening hours will resume at 10am on Tuesday 5 August. We will try to keep this page updated during games time, but for the latest updates, please see our facebook page

Opening Hours

The People's Palace is CLOSED on Mondays, and opens from 10.00am-5.00pm on Tuesday - Thursday and Saturdays, with a slightly later opening of 11.00am - 5.00pm on Fridays and Sundays. 

The Winter Gardens and Café are open daily 10am to 5pm.

The Museum is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day each year, as well as the 1 and 2 January. On Hogmanay, the museum will close at 12.30pm. We are also closed on Bank Holidays in keeping with regular opening hours.

By Subway

15 minutes' walk from St Enoch subway station.

By Train

15 minutes' walk from Argyle Street, Bellgrove and High Street train stations.

By Bus

First Bus services 18, 64 and 263 stop on London Road, with services 2, 40, 60, 61, 240 and 255 stop on Gallowgate. All these services are within a couple of minutes walk to the People's Palace.
