The Ayoreo-Totobiegosode live in the forests of western Paraguay.
Christian missionaries have brought most of the tribe out of the forest. But some families have resisted contact with outsiders. They are thought to continue to live traditionally by hunting wild pigs and gathering honey.
Ayoreo land is now part of a wildlife and nature reserve that is classified as protected.
In spite of this, Brazilian and Paraguayan companies are bulldozing roads through Ayoreo territory and clearing it for cattle ranching or logging.
