Provand’s Lordship, the oldest house in Glasgow, will reopen on Friday 29 March 2024 after a £1.6 million repair and improvement programme.

Provand’s Lordship was built in 1471. It is one of only four surviving medieval buildings in Glasgow. 

A visit to Provand's Lordship, offers an opportunity to step back into medieval Glasgow.

By train 

The nearest local train station is High Street.

By bus

First Bus services 19, 19A, 38, 57 and 57A all stop near the house.

On foot

The house is located in the city centre, a short walk from Buchanan Street and Argyle Street. It is opposite St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art and Glasgow Cathedral.

At Provand's Lordship you can step back into Glasgow's past in the only house to survive from the medieval city. Provand's Lordship has been extensively restored to give a real flavour of life in medieval Glasgow. This film aims to give you a flavour of this unique building and its contents.
