Free bus service for Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s at Scotstoun Stadium

Rugby fans will be able to get to and from this weekend’s Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s at Scotstoun Stadium via a free shuttle bus service.
Glasgow Life and Scottish Rugby have confirmed full details of an enhanced shuttle bus service from Glasgow City Centre and Partick Interchange to Scotstoun Stadium on both match days (Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May). The services will be completely free for ticket holders and will operate at regular intervals throughout match weekend.
Services from Buchanan Bus Station and Partick Interchange will run up to a maximum of every 8 minutes during busy periods (9.45am to 3pm on both days). They will then operate at a maximum of every 15 minutes from 3pm and 4pm. There will be 14 buses operating during this time.
To ensure the quick departure of supporters at the end of each day 34 buses will shuttle fans to both Buchanan Bus Station and Partick Interchange. These services will operate from 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday. With around 30,000 people expected to make their way to the venue over the weekend of May 4 and 5, supporters are being urged to ease the strain on the public transport and use the 7s Priority Shuttle.
A spokesman for Glasgow Life said: “The Glasgow 7s is once again shaping up to be a weekend of world-class rugby. Last year’s shuttle bus service was a great success and will be once again be offering a free shuttle bus service to get fans to and from the stadium as quickly and conveniently as possible. The free shuttle bus service will make a real difference to travelling fans and will minimise the strain on the public transport network.”
The Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s will be the perfect chance for rugby fans in Glasgow to see the best in the world in the heat of battle. Fans will be able to see host nation Scotland along with rugby giants including reigning series champions, the All Blacks, South Africa, Fiji, France, England and Australia.
As well as the international rugby action there will also be kids ‘come and try’ skill zones, a festival of rugby for clubs across Scotland and a special autograph zone, helping create a real party atmosphere. For further information on tickets please visit www.glasgow7s.com.
