The fitness suite at one of Glasgow ’s most popular leisure centres – the Glasgow Club Bellahouston – has been transformed thanks to a £200,000 modernisation programme.
From today (Monday) fitness enthusiasts at the Glasgow Club Bellahouston will have access to one of the most advanced facilities in the city after the latest fitness equipment was installed in the gym. The work forms part of a £2.25million citywide gym refresh project.
Around 90 cardiovascular and strength conditioning stations have been installed in the fitness suite including Visioweb – the ultimate digital cardiovascular platform, Vario – an adaptive stride cross trainer and Kinesis Stations – a progressive training solution that improves strength. Glasgow Life worked with leading fitness supplier Technogym on the refurbishment project. Technogym was the official fitness equipment supplier at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The capacity of the fitness suite at the Glasgow Club Bellahouston was increased by around a third earlier this year as part of an earlier phase of improvement works. This included the installation
of additional equipment and the creation of a new functional training zone, which has helped increase attendances at the centre.
Chair of Glasgow Life and the Executive Member for the Commonwealth Games, Councillor Archie Graham, said: “The Glasgow Club Bellahouston is leading the way when it comes to fitness provision in the city. The facilities on offer are at the very cutting edge of the leisure industry and will add to the centre’s popularity over the coming months.
“The people of Glasgow deserve access to the best facilities and that is what they have here at Bellahouston. Across the city we are seeing attendances increasing at our facilities and new investment such as this will see that continue
