More tickets go on sale on Friday 15th November for the most
exciting swimming head-to-head in the calendar – the Duel in the Pool which
will take place at Glasgow’s
Tollcross International Swimming Centre, host to the swimming events at the
Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The biennial event will take place on 20 and 21
December 2013 and now even more people can be at the heart of the action.
The Duel will see
swimmers from USA and Europe facing off to win points for their team in what
has become known as the 'Ryder Cup' of the pool.
With tickets selling
out for the second day of competition within the first 24 hours this is another
opportunity to be at the heart of the action at the future Commonwealth pool.
For swimmers like Craig McNally the opportunity to take part in such an
exciting competition was something he couldn’t resist.
“I am really excited about the meet,” McNally said. “I got to watch the
competition in 2009 and it looked exciting and fun and I can’t wait to be part
of it now. It’s a really different format and totally head-to-head. It will be
quick and I will be looking to up my game for the competition.
“The home support really means a lot for all of us. The crowds are what
creates the buzz for the swimmers and gets you excited to race. At the Duel in
the Pool the crowd will be really important to all of the swimmers. With these
extra tickets on sale it gives more people the chance to experience the
excitement of the meet and help to cheer us all on ahead of next year’s
Councillor Archie Graham, Executive Member for Commonwealth Games 2014

taste of what to expect next year at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.”
