Sports Person of the Year Awards


2012 Sports Person of the Year Awards took place on Friday 1st February at the Glasgow City Chambers.

The awards recognise excellence, achievement and development by Glasgow and Scottish sportsmen, sportswomen and sports organizations.

This year’s event showed exactly this with nominations from all areas of sports such as, Tennis, Rowing, Swimming, Weightlifting, Cycling, Badminton, Curling and table tennis.

A new recognition award was also added this year ceremony to honor the Glasgow Olympians and Paralympian Athletes, Susan Eglestaff, Robbie Renwick, Andrew Mullen, Aileen McGlynn and Gordon Reid all attended the evening to collect this award from the Rt Hon Lord Provost Sadie Docherty.
