Lesley Kerr from New Town, Edinburgh was the 100,000th person to visit the Jack Vettriano exhibition in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

After being presented with complimentary tickets to explore the retrospective, a signed exhibition catalogue and lunch in the restaurant at Kelvingrove, Lesley Kerr said: “I’m here with two friends; we meet regularly for a laugh, lunch, oh and of course some culture.

“There seems to have been a lot of debate around Jack Vettriano’s work.  I wanted to come and see his paintings and make up my own mind on the merits of the retrospective.  I think it’s a wonderful idea to bring so many of his works together in one place and I’m very much looking forward to taking in the exhibition.  Being the 100,000th visitor is a lovely surprise, I’m sure I could get used to the celebrity lifestyle”.

Chair of Glasgow Life, Councillor Archie Graham, said; Chair of Glasgow Life, Councillor Archie Graham, said; “The response to the Jack Vettriano retrospective has been phenomenal.  From the outset we knew it was going to be extremely popular and passing this milestone confirms the public's affection for the artist and his works.

“We know many more of Jack’s fans will be keen to explore the exhibition in the final few weeks of its run.  Now, the public also have a rare opportunity to meet him, learn a little more about his inspiration and take home a personal memento from this wonderful retrospective.”

There will be a free admission Book -Signing on Saturday 8th February from 12pm to 2pm, during which Jack Vettriano will be signing copies of the Retrospective exhibition catalogue and the newly updated book, Jack Vettriano: A Life.  Both publications are available for purchase at the Museum Shop priced at £15.99 and £30.
