Baby's First Christmas Registration Open

Registration for one of Glasgow Loves Christmas’ best loved events opens on Monday October 31 at 9.00 am. Baby’s First Christmas will be held on Saturday 3 December with the first 250 registered meeting the Lord Provost at the City Chambers.
Each baby will receive personalised scroll, a silver Newbridge Christmas decoration for their Christmas tree which is sponsored by St Enoch Centre and a teddy bear from Hamleys.  Babies have to be under a year old to be able to take part.
Registration opens at 9am on Monday 31 October for a maximum of two weeks or until all 1000 places have been filled. Applications are invited from babies born within the Glasgow City Council boundary taken on a first come first served basis.

Lord Provost of Glasgow, Councillor Sadie Docherty said: “Christmas is all about family and having new members to join the festivities always makes it that little bit extra special. Baby’s First Christmas delivers a festive occasion that creates memories that mums and dads will always treasure and is an event I look forward to being part of.”
Baby’s First Christmas is jointly sponsored by Glasgow City Council, St Enoch Centre and supported by Hamleys.  It has attracted thousands of babies and their parents since it began in 2005, and forms part of the city’s Glasgow Loves Christmas celebrations.

As one of Glasgow’s leading shopping centres we are proud to be sponsoring Baby’s First Christmas, and hope the day will give families memories to treasure for many years to come.”
The Christmas Market returns to St Enoch Square on 10 November with the market opening for the first time in George Square on 26 November in place of an Ice Rink. As well as great Christmas gastronomic treats, drinks such as the famous the hug-in-a-mug hot glühwein and unique gift ideas, live entertainment and fairground rides in George Square.
The hugely popular Style Mile Christmas Carnival on Sunday 27 November will bring music, dance and spectacle to the heart of Glasgow. Beginning at St Enoch’s Centre at 2.30pm and finishing at George Square, participants include the Dance School of Scotland, the Citizens Theatre Community Company, Abinhaya Dance, Samba Ya Bamba Youth Group, Mount Florida Primary School and Monkey Puzzle Nursery.
The traditional Blessing of the Crib with the Lord Provost and a children’s choir will be on Wednesday 7 December in George Square.
Glasgow’s Santa Dash, which saw more than 6,000 runners take part last year, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, supporting Beatson Cancer Charity with the last mass participation run in Glasgow for the year being held on Sunday 11 December.
