The Plateau; it sounds a bit like a new yoga move but it’s actually one of the most important elements of any fitness regime.
So you’ve been hitting the gym regularly for a couple of months and although you made some amazing early gains your progress seems to have slowed down now.
Don’t worry, this is what is know as the exercise plateau and it effects everyone form the professional athlete through to the keen amateur!! But with the help of the Glasgow Club we can very quickly get you over it.
To put it very simply our bodies quickly adapt to any exercise routine and start running on auto pilot. Therefore, every 6 weeks or so you should “shock” your body with a new routine. But again don’t worry as this is easier than it sounds. Its all about keeping you body guessing and it’s the key to big improvements.
For example, if you have been using the weights machines at the gym why not give the free weights a try or perhaps a Body Pump class or Boot Camp. Have you been running on the treadmill then why not mix it up with a Spin or Body Attack Class.
