Teaching Pool

Swimming Pool Ratios
We want your visit to our pool to be a fun, safe & memorable experience. With this in mind please carefully read our pool ratios below to avoid any disappointment.
Glasgow Club Scotstoun adheres to guidelines specified by the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM)
For users of Scotstouns Main Pool, the ratio is as follows:
1 adult may accompany 1 child under the age of 4 years old, on a 1:1 basis or
1 adult may accompany 2 children between the ages of 4 - 7 years old, on a 1:2 basis.
For users of Scotstouns Teaching Pool the ratio is as follows: 1 adult may accompany 2 children under the age of 4 years old, on a 1:2 basis or
1 adult may accompany 2 children between the ages 4 - 7 years old, on a 1:2 basis.
Children aged 8 years and over may swim unaccompanied, however parents should only permit this if they are satisfied that their child is physically able to manage this. Parents should take into account their child’s swimming ability, common sense and general confidence before allowing their child to swim unaccompanied.
