Pool Improvements

Over the next few months, we’re going to be making improvements to Glasgow Club Scotstoun. The key works taking place include:

  • Essential pool repairs
  • Refurbishment of health and fitness changing areas
  • Installation of new controlled gate access at reception area

On Monday 27 March, Glasgow Club Scotstoun’s swimming pool and health suite closed to the public in order to undergo repair work, re-opening in early July 2017.

While the venue’s pool is closed, please bear in mind Glasgow Club has 12 pools across the city, and a Fitness Unlimited membership allows customers to use any of these pools. Pay As You Go (PAYG) customers will pay the same price to swim in any other centre as they would in Scotstoun.

On Monday 24 April, Glasgow Club Scotstoun’s health and fitness changing areas will be closed in order to undergo renovation, reopening on Monday 5 June. The pool changing area will still be available for customers using the gym or attending fitness classes.

We understand this work will be an inconvenience for our customers, and we’ve worked hard to keep disruption to a miniumum.

The nearest Glasgow Club pool facilities (within a five mile radius) are as below:

  • Bellahouston - 4m
  • Drumchapel - 3m
  • Maryhill - 3.5m
  • North Woodside - 4.8m

If you feel your membership will offer less than great value while improvements are being carried out to Glasgow Club Scotstoun, please contact Customer Services on 0141 287 8931 (Monday-Friday 08:30-18:00 and Fridays 08:30-16:00). They’ll be happy to freeze your membership payment and you can still use the facilities on a Pay As You Go basis if you wish.

Thanks for your patience as we work to improve your Glasgow Club.

Admission Policy & Swimming Pool Ratios

We want your visit to our pool to be a fun, safe & memorable experience. With this in mind please carefully read our pool ratios below to avoid any disappointment.

Ratios2.bmp

For users of Scotstouns Main Pool, the ratio is as follows:

  •  1 adult may accompany 1 child under the age of 4 years old, on a 1:1 basis or
  • 1 adult may accompany 2 children between the ages of 4 - 7 years old, on a 1:2 basis.

For users of Scotstouns Teaching Pool the ratio is as follows:

  •  1 adult may accompany 2 children under the age of 4 years old, on a 1:2 basis or
  • 1 adult may accompany 2 children between the ages 4 - 7 years old, on a 1:2 basis.

Children aged 8 years and over may swim unaccompanied, however parents should only permit this if they are satisfied that their child is physically able to manage this. Parents should take into account their child’s swimming ability, maturity, confidence and general common sense before allowing their child to swim unaccompanied. Our lifeguards on duty will advise any weak swimmers on what area's of the pool they can use.
