The team over from Germany hard at work on the constructing the velodrome. It is quite an intricate process but we're sure it's going to produce some record breaking performances.

Next week, 9th April the team are in to start laying the track in both the Indoor Arena and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. Very exciting times.
The track will move up and down at the bends to allow the arena to host a whole variety of major sporting events.
Hopefully we will see a number of world records broken on the new Ralph Schumann designed track.

Sir Robin Wales, the Mayor of Newham, one of the London boroughs hosting the London Olympic Games. He was very impressed with the Commonwealth Arena and the progress made.
