A great well done to everyone who took part in our Marathon training sessions this year! You all did an absolutely fantastic job and we are very proud of the progress you all made! For anyone who is interested in taking part next year we recommend that you keep training to keep your fitness levels up so you can join the sessions again next year!
Marathon Training with the running network
Our 16 week course includes:
1 x weekly long run gradually building in distance.
2-4 x weekly network sessions, various days and times. Our coaches will arrange sessions to suit you.
Full training programme.
Fully qualified and experienced coaches.
Details of each route will be published at least one week in advance on the course blog grnmarathontraining.blogspot.com
Criteria for joining
Able to run for approximately 1 hour without stopping (this course starts at 6 miles).
Able to run 10k in approximately 65 minutes or less or a half marathon in 2 hours 15 minutes or less.
If you're interested in taking part our course will commence on 1st February 2014 and run until 17th May 2014. Week one of the course will take place at Glasgow Club Gorbals where you will be provided with an introduction to the course and be given a Marathon Training Diary, which provides details on the weekly mileage and location of the sessions, which will alternate between various Glasgow Club venues throughout the duration of the course. Keeping on Track in the meantime!
Running the marathon is quite a challenge and our sessions can help you keep on track for next years event. So for those of you who can already run three miles or more without stopping or if you're looking to take part in runs up to 10 miles, why not come along to one of the regular Running Network sessions in Glasgow.
