British Invitational Netball Competition in May
11th-13th May 2012
Glasgow Club Bellahouston
The 2nd British Invitational Netball Competition of 2012 will take place at Glasgow Club Bellahouston on 11th-13th May. Following the success of the initial tournament in January which was won by the Glasgow Wildcats this event will welcome 3 top netball teams from the UK to compete with the Wildcats for the title.
The event will also include development events including a personal best challenge for schools and clubs.
IRB Emirates Airline Glasgow 7’s
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May
The IRB World 7’s series is a tournament that has been running since 1999-2000. Teams compete for the World series title by accumulating points from their finishing position in each tournament. Each seasons circuit currently consists of nine tournaments and visits five of the six populated continents. Australia, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, Honk Kong, Japan, Scotland and England each host one event.
In the past when the IRB 7’s has visited Scotland it has been held at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh as this is the home of Rugby. However, for the first time it is being held in Glasgow at Scotstoun Stadium over 2 days. The first day Saturday 5th May teams will compete in group stages to try and make the Cup, Shield, plate and bowl finals respectively. On the second day Sunday 6th May, teams will compete in knockout stages competing for the Cup, Shield, Plate and Bowl trophies.

NCS Glasgow City Sevens

Cartha Queens Park RFC, Dumbreck, Glasgow
The Glasgow City 7s are hosted by Cartha Queens Park RFC and is run in partnership with Glasgow Life.
16 adult teams will take part this year and this year some of the top teams will include Munster, London Wasps and Glasgow Warriors.
The event will start at 1pm and spectators can enjoy a great day out with food and drink on sale for the duration of the event.
Tickets for the event will cost £10 and can be purchased on the day of the event.
BAA Youth Games
Thursday 18th May and 25th May

The Glasgow Youth Games aim to raise the profile of sport within Glasgow schools and provide young people with the opportunity to experience participation in a large scale sporting event. The event includes all sports that are on offer to schools within the academic year After Schools Sport Programme. There are two events which make up the Youth Games in Glasgow:
§ The Primary Games – Which takes place on Thursday 25th May
§ The Secondary Games – Which takes place on Thursday 18th May
