Glasgow Life’s Coach Education Programme targets individuals within Glasgow who are, or wish to, deliver sport and physical activity within the community. The programme provides sports specific and generic workshops to aid the development of high performance sport and participation.
The sports specific workshops are:
- UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) accredited and Glasgow Sport liaises with Scottish Governing Bodies to ensure these workshops are provided to Glasgow residents.
The generic workshops aim to develop skills for coaches regardless of the sport they are involved in. These generic workshops cover topics such as:
- Child protection
- First Aid
- Support for athletes with disabilities
- Session delivery and programmes run from April to March - further details can be found in the Coach Education Programme booklet.
Basketballscotland runs annual coaching and official courses. Those wishing to take part in basketballscotland activities and receive communication must register. Individual registration packages are available for those who wish to:
- Coach
- Officiate, both Floor and Table
- Volunteer
